TESLA ROCK OPERA
Tesla Rock Opera is composed and devised by Andrej Kljakovic as it was his long everlasting dream. Back in 1998 Andrej worked in London as a producer for a rock opera called Song Divine. Since then he had been building a vision of a man who created a world of electricity and electromagnetism. Interesting enough, the first record that Andrej owned as a child was the music for the Hair Rock Musical and thereafter Quadrophenia and Tommy fallowed.
TESLA ROCK OPERA is a multimedia stage spectacle of the life and works of the great genius Nikola Tesla. Accompanied by a symphony orchestra, vocal/dance ensemble, film excerpts and performances of top singers, it is the story of the upheavals and successes in the life of a man who is indebted to the world for his inventions.
The idea of this project is to promote a prophetic genius and his work. We see this opportunity of re-creating the character of Nikola Tesla for the world to know.

Andrej Kljakovic is a composer, pianist and visual artist. He is best known for his work with eclectic group Voices Of Nature and Kljakovic Eklektik Company. He was born in Zagreb, Croatia, where he studied classical piano from the age of 7 and later in the 80s studied at The Jazz Conservatory in Paris.
Kljakovic began his professional career working in several progressive bands in the former republic of Yugoslavia where he pioneered in first jazz-rock band Lotus. In the 90s he worked as a producer in London for V2, Universal and Sony/BMG record labels and as a songwriter for Bucks Music Publishing.
In 2013 Andrej began working on music theatre plays, the first project being the Tesla Rock Opera, a multi media music spectacle based on the life and works of the great genius and visionary Nikola Tesla. This was followed by Transfiguration, based on the life and works of the High Renaissance giants, namely Raphael, Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo. After Transfiguration, Andrej has written the libretto and song lyrics for his latest musical Krisopia, a colourful and magical fairytale.
This was followed by the project RETURN TO FOREVER which is the audiovisual experience where Andrej has composed music and created all visual images.
Vangelic - An Epic Tribute, is Andrej's latest album, which is released on Discom Records.
Return To Forever
VANGELIC - An Epic Tribute
When a musician or a composer hears that another great has departed, we may reach for their record to listen to the songs and reminisce. Or we may pull up to our instrument and play the pieces they left behind. But when an icon, whose brilliance influenced so many, leaves us, the blues does not stem easily. Because “like tears in rain” we come and go but the legends… well, they remain. But instead of lament, we sometimes find desire and inspiration to honour the genius.
This sentiment struck a chord with four veterans of electronic scene, who despite living and working in different corners of the world, decided to create a joint tribute to express how the legendary composer impacted their own music journeys. Sparked by magic that lives on, they simply called their musical landscape – VANGELIC. Composed and recorded this spring in Zagreb, Belgrade, Prague and London, this truly epic tribute features over an hour of breath-taking music which effortlessly traverses electronic genres.
Andrej Kljakovic is a Croatian composer and visual artist with artistic family background. Andrej has a long career as a pianist/ composer and using his compositional skills he went on to transform his sonic ideas into visual art. He feels a strong connection between music and visual art, therefore working with a painting surface is nothing more than a dialogue between the conscious and unconscious mind of familiar verses unknown. With his work, Andrej finds that it is necessary to explore the depths of the unconscious forces that exist in us which are dormant and to preserve higher spheres and dimensions of life that allows us to approach the highest of our being.
It took me some time to do Piccolo Paradiso and I had no idea what the paintings were suppose to depict. It was manipulating a chance until a picture started talking to me. I used here high relief with homemade textural paste and I applied caoutchouc glue, acrylics, spray and enamel paints. The picture was painted directly through me, without any preliminary drawing, and with great force.
FLOR DE LA MAR
I’m a passionate sea diver and as a kid I often dreamed about ship wrecks and hidden treasures. Very recently I discovered a fascinating story about a Portuguese ship that went down in the Indian Ocean called Flower Of The Sea. The ship still lies at the bottom of the sea bed and undiscovered with a large treasure trove destined for the Portuguese king. I wanted to make a model of that treasure chest just from my imagination. I used my homemade texture paste, hot pistol gun that created intricate cob web type relief, imitating green sea algae that has grown over many years. I painted it with green spray paint and applied gold paint in the middle of the circles. Then I thought of some kind of Mark Rothko rich red colour field idea so I painted it with red enamel, followed by another texture of orange spray paint. Then I used very glossy vanish to make it more illuminating and radiating.
